Le CANTINE APERTE_ Sant'Angelo le Fratte

Coincidentally on this Summer trip up to Italy, i was invited to join the locals in this lovely festival at: Via delle Cantine, 85050 Sant'Angelo Le Fratte More about the festival: About OPEN CELLARS ... EXPERIENCE TO LIVE ! Description Open Cellars , eno- gastronomic between the cellars carved into the rock of the mountain above the country. The event, organized by the local Pro- Loco with the support of hundreds of volunteers motivated citizens , held for over a decade, with proven success in the days 12-13 - 14th and 15th August in the area called Cupa Cantine offering the possibility to tens of thousands of visitors to taste wines , cheeses and other local products of high quality local cuisine .

Started my drive from 8.30pm and only about and hour later was i able to get a parking lot before it was a long and cold walk up the main event area. As you walk along the pathways of the cave-like walkways, there were people selling Italian local deliciacy as well as live band playing for entertainment. With the whole atmosphere filled with live music playing, people dancing around, people enjoying the awesome local Italian food and wine...it was such an enjoyable time of relaxation for myself and Gabriela. Walking through the quiet streets back to our car, we came across statues that had significant meaning to the town as well. It was such a wonderful experience to be able to seep into the fun atmosphere of celebration of this festival with everyone.
